Test characteristics of dielectric breakdown voltage

Dielectric breakdown voltage tester is to measure the ability of insulating liquid to withstand electrical stress. This ability is reduced, such as the presence of cellulose fibers, conductive particles, dust and / or water contaminants. The tester is used to measure the withstand voltage of insulating liquid medium, which is usually called oil test set. The set consists of an insulating liquid sample placed in a container, an electrode and an AC voltage source.



Two kinds of test methods are used to measure the breakdown voltage of liquid insulating materials. These test methods can be used to evaluate insulation equipment designed to be filled with liquid with untreated liquid. The measurement of a high breakdown voltage by this method does not indicate that the amount of contamination in the sample is low enough for the sample solution to be accepted by all electrical equipment. Low concentration pollutants are not sensitive.



If the insulating liquid used in vacuum oil filtration equipment is applied before it is put into service, the test method is used to determine the breakdown voltage of liquid filtration and degassing. A program used to determine the insoluble subdivisions in the liquid is easy to solve the required breakdown voltage during the time interval between repeated breakdown tests. These fluids will include oil, hydrocarbons, transformers, insulating and cooling fluids for cables, and similar appliances. The test method of the application program shall contain insoluble materials from the liquid samples resolved during the test of the sample. This may include contamination from circuit breaker samples, on load tap changers, large quantities of insoluble particulate matter, and other liquids.
